When adding a remote start to your vehicle there are a lot of things to think about. For the 2006 Nissan Quest you have a keyless entry fob that has lock, unlock, panic, sliding doors, hatch, etc and is separate from your key. That leaves you with 2 different routes to go. You can either do a very basic remote start system and continue to use your factory remote to control the locks OR you can do a remote start system that will start the vehicle and control the locks all from one remote so you won’t have to carry two.

So what is the best way to go? Good question! Personally if the van is equipped with the power hatch and power sliders we recommend a basic remote start and then using your existing fob for keyless functions. The reason for this is most aftermarket systems just can’t control all those extra doors quite as seamless as the factory remote made for that specific vehicle. In this case we like the Code Alarm CA-4054 below for your 2006 Nissan Quest. Up to 1500ft of range which is plenty for daily use and rock solid reliability! To give an idea most houses from the window to the driveway is about 50 ft or so. Start your car from your home or office with the touch of a button. Use the simple small 1-button remotes to start your van and then use the OEM transmitter you’re already use to for all the other functions. The factory remote works with the vehicle running so no issues to worry about there!

In addition to the remote start unit above, you will also need what’s called a bypass module for your 2006 Nissan Quest. This will work along with the unit above and allow it to control the immobilizer and starting system on your vehicle. We recommend the unit below:

These two units work PERFECT together on this vehicle! Keep in mind the above bypass will need to be programmed for your 2006 Nissan Quest. If it doesn’t come programmed most local shops will program it for you for little to no cost.

So what if I would prefer to only carry one fob around? No problem! Check out the Prestige remote start with keyless entry below. What makes this different than any other remote system? Look at the bottom of the remotes there are buttons with the numbers 1 and 2 on them. These can be setup to work your sliding doors perfectly and the dual function button above them will work your power hatch. Most other systems only have 4 total buttons so controlling the sliders or hatch can be a pain. No worries with this system rock solid performance and no loss of functions from your OEM remote.
